Here are few of most expensive coins in my collection.

















AND my today win in CNG an iconic coin of Achaemenid satrap in Sidon depicting the Persian king Darius riding a chariot.

 

My two most expensive Sestertii were (and will always be) this father and son duo:

 

@Julius Germanicus: are you saying that the two together are the most expensive or each separately?

 

Each of them cost 50 % more than any of my other coins

 

Having both of them is very impressive. I think they're beautiful.

 

I like the way they look together. They match in color grade and surface condition.

I briefly considered bidding on the Allectus aureus being auctioned now (or soon) by Dix Noonan. Seeing that its discovery made international news it's likely that it's a sound investment. And there's the fact that chances of getting a shot at another of that caliber are slim to zilch. However... when cooler heads are allowed to think about it rationally you come to the realization that with that kind of money you can buy a house!

Maybe someday if I win the lotto :-D
