In general, I’d prefer we stick with original guesses (unless some new info is added after a guess). However, it’s not an issue to change as long as it’s done in good faith (i.e. don’t change your guess based on what someone else guessed; I’ll add that your change was perfectly reasonable).

Here’s an SLQ similar to a recent post but at a lower grade. I purchased it in August 2017. It has a hint of rainbow at the top of the obverse. PCGS Guide for 17d FH in 58 is $350.

I'm gonna say $300 on the SLQ. I'm not seeing anything in the images other than original surfaces that would merit a premium.

 

@ddddd : I have an additional suggestion for context info on the sale prices. I propose we should also say where the purchase / sale was made. Everybody knows things can get crazy on eBay sometimes, and that might affect someone's guess vs saying it was purchased at a small / local coin show, or a dealer website, for instance.

 

$375, though I don't think the premium has anything to do with the toning, and more to do with the fact that it is a very attractive slider with CAC approval which would push it to the MS62 price range.

That also can be important and people can mention it if they want. I wonder though if that will lead to overthinking guesses. I believe the main intent in this thread is to see what others think the value should be (independent of venue) and then we can judge the final price in terms of all factors (date of sale, venue, etc).

@ddddd takes this round. I paid $282 on Heritage. I agree with @Lehigh96 about the originality being more of a selling point than the toning. That was my reason for choosing this coin, although under stronger light it shows a tad of rainbow which is an added bonus. The SLQ series seems to be especially filled with poorly dipped pieces. I’m really happy with mine and don’t expect to upgrade anytime soon. It’s one I’ll probably never sell.

How much did I buy and then sell this Morgan for in April 2019?
~Guide is in the $60-$90 range.
~Both buy and sell were via private sale, which might make this tricky (meaning not an auction venue nor a show...the person I bought from got it from GC, but we're not guessing that part).
