So, according to eBay, the dealer of the UNC BU (PMD) roll of 1970 Canadian pennies I was naive enough to buy has, as of today, refunded the purchase price along with the original shipping fees, which are not yet accessible on my account... 2-3 days apparently. What do I do now? The email notification did not specify. Do I have to include a return authorization slip? Do I wait until the funds are in my account before I ship it back to them? Their ad claims they will handle the return shipping costs, is that forwarded after they have received their product back? This is my first such event and hopefully my last but, I am ignorant of the process and don’t want any further hassles in my life... I have more than my share of them already. Advice greatly appreciated.
If you started the process to return, you should see a postage label along with a return slip. Print it out and mail back the item with the return slip in the same package. Then you'll get a refund. I know it seems complicated but it's truly not.
As stated, check the email go to resolution center and you will have a free shipping label just print and return, if the funds came out of paypal, they will be returned there, paypal will credit the card used in the transaction, after the item is returned.
Basically, just follow the instructions eBay gives you. The first time I made a return, it seemed truly daunting, but it turned out fine. It is a bit of a hassle to print a label, pack a box, go to the post office, then wait for your money (see what I mean by "truly daunting"? ) but you'll be OK. eBay's guaranteed return system actually works pretty well.
I’m a gift card credit card user for all online transactions. Years ago I set up a PayPal account and almost immediately I was getting notifications of purchases which I never made and no money was ever drawn from my bank account. I haven’t touched the account since. Hopefully that doesn’t complicate things.
eBay, in the email, never gave any instructions. I have messaged them through their help centre however. I’m just thinking now, maybe I should use the desktop instead of my iPad, there might be more options there. Thank you.
1st step, on the item page of the item you wish to return, click on "I wish to return this item" (or whatever the wording may be), follow the prompts, it should lead you right through the process.
Yup, all that was done early this morning. The seller has refunded me although not yet available. The steps following all of that is unknown to me. I’ve searched all my messages and such but no return authorization slip nor shipping label has been provided if indeed it is necessary. I messaged the eBay help centre.
