Hello everyone, I'm new here and was hoping to get some feedback on this quarter I found. I really don't know the "terms, or phrases" that are used, but I'll post some pictures and hopefully someone could let me know what it is I have here. Thanks in advance for any help that is given. I'm not familiar with the stamping process all to well either, but the front of the quarter is slightly bubbled out where the back of the head is, and on the reverse side it's slightly indented where those marks at the wing are at.

Awesome find! Reminds me of a guy here on CT who found a ASE in a box that looks just like this. It appears to be a Broadstrike, I believe, and definitively carry a premium. How much I dont know.

By the damage in LIBERTY on the obverse as well as some damage on the reverse, my gut impression is that this coin was altered outside the mint. But I'd wait for the error experts on this one.

I don't know what to make of it. I'm trying to envision how PMD could have occurred so close to the rim without leaving marks on it. I'd need to see better close-ups (not quite as blurry) of smaller segments rather than the whole coin.

How do you get the mirrored TY of LIBERTY not raised, but INCUSED at 3-4 o'clock obverse?

By way of another quarter being pressed into it.

I'm fairly certain this is a post mint damaged coin.

I don't guess there was any follow up to this? Looks interesting. Could a coin be restruck rotated and cocked slightly? Or altered explanation a quarter on each side was pinched together with vise grips maybe
