I think those images are excellent personally, but I haven't seen the actual coin in person so I can say.
Good luck! Stunning stuff. I assume my dear Perseus also went off to get a new plastic coffin to replace the defective one? They'd better not have charged you, if so.
holy cow, great pics by NGC! Can't wait to get some photovisions done in the future! @kazuma78 are you happy?
The photos indeed look nice. What do they charge for that? Their cheaper "Internet Imaged" option (or whatever it was called) - the $3/coin option - was a complete waste of money when I tried it on one submission, years back. I could have done better with the flatbed scanner I was using at the time. In fact, I think they must have been using a scanner themselves, and apparently one not as good as mine. (I had a nice scanner, but you can only go so far with that.)
I want to say photovision is $10. NGC still free of charge takes pictures of each coin so if you look them up on the cert lookup their are pics, albeit not good at times, still allows you to compare it to what your buying, etc to see if its the real one or a fake.
Those are nice pix, and i like the dark-but-not-black background. If it's only $10, then it's competitive with PCGS TrueView. I've been slightly disappointed with some of the TrueViews I've gotten lately, though some have been good.
Those octagonal French jetons are stunning. Here is mine- not as colorful, but a really sweet design. MS63, pop. 2/0.
I didnt send it in with the other stuff. I like the coin too much to risk mailing it again myself. I figured I'd just drop it off at the worlds fair of money next year.
I am happy with the photos and hopefully I'll be happy with the grades when I get them. They also suggested NCS on 2 coins so I'll see how that turns out also. I definitely am getting a sample of almost all of ngc's services with these submissions.
Everything is in grading/quality control since Friday so hopefully it goes into finalized/imaged/shipped soon and I get my grades
A piece of advice on submissions for anyone reading this thread in the future: dont submit ancients with anything world or U.S. If I submit again, I would separate any world/u.s. from ancients because each leg of the ancient process is much longer than any other service. Since Mr. Vagi verifies everything in the Quality Control stage and he and Barry are the only 2 in that department, it significantly slows things down if you are anxious to get your grades back (as I think most are). NGC customer service has been fantastic. But in hindsight, I would have paid the extra shipping to have the ancients ship separately and have gotten all of my other grades back by now. Everything has been good so far and I have been happy with NGC, I just am looking forward to the grades and cant help from refreshing the submission status several times per day.
Yeah they emailed them to me. I didnt like a few of the ones they sent and asked for some of the other photos of the same coin. They sent me multiple photos of each coin at that point so I could pick my favorite photo. The interesting thing to me is that they don't use the photo vision photo for the cert number. They still use their full slab scans, which is interesting and a little disappointing, since the scans arent great and the photo vision photos are nice.
