First one I've seen on a '19 cent. Nice find. There's been almost a plethora of Die Crack Lincoln Cents in the past 5 years or so - more than in the prior decade or two, imo.
Meow has not found any significant pennies in the shield era. Meow thinks it is because Meow lives in a place where most of the coins are D mint. Philly coins are so much more likely to have such errors, and Meow feels bad they are so hard to find where Meow lives.
thank you all for your comments... I just wanted to follow up on this die crack and say that although I'm not all the way thru the box yet, I have over two dollars with the same crack. All of them have a slight clash behind Lincoln's neck.
Maybe its the clash that caused the crack? Anyway congrats on the find. Meow would hope to be lucky one day and find a bunch of nice keepers for the Cat hoard like that.
I have the same problem as Meow, becauase I live in Colorado! Interesting how Philadelphia seems to make most of the errors or varieties.
Nice spiked head! Such a strong crack. Can't believe you have 2 dollar with the same one! That's insane! Anyways, cool clash too.
Haha maybe so, but us change searchers sometimes wish otherwise , although I'm sure the mint is glad.
