Hi, Could anyone help me with what the real identity and denomination of this coin is? It's difficult to read because of wear, but hopefully someone has some experience with these coins already. What do you think? Thanks.
nice coin =) unfortunately I cannot tell you exactly what is is as I don't have my seaby book at hand.... only can say it has the crown mintmark which dates it to a cirtain issue, but hard to say what coin exactly it is without knowing the diameter, but you can look allready the issue up .... the obv. legend means:elizabeth,by the grace of god, queen of england, france and ireland. legend rev.:I have made god my helper daniel
AVFs/GFs normally will cost around £100, and a GF/F as pictured might be £40 to £70, depending on the clearness of the date and portrait (this issue was pretty badly struck) There seem to be lots of hair lines on the one pictured, so I'm not going to try and value it.
Thanks very much for the info, I'll take a look. It was scanned still in the plastic of the 2x2 which might have added some of those, but I'm sure it's been through a lot. I was just curious about the identity of this "problem coin". Thanks!
