Although not, so to speak, from the horse's mouth, that is a possibility. Margaret Thatcher used the royal "we" when she became a grandmother. When I become the proud owner of a genuine Julius Caesar, I might use the royal "we"- despite not being much of a monarchist !!!

 

Whether intended, or not, I take it as complimentary that all the CT mods, surely for the best possible reasons ?, are interested enough to be watching me. Without meaning to make anyone unduly paranoid, I might assure them that they, themselves, are not free from ordinary member's acute watchfulness !!!

It's a religious artifact not a coin. It was written in simplified Chinese as
阿米托佛 from top and clockwise. It is pronounced as Amituofo which is a common phrase used throughout Chinese Buddhist tradition.

The bottom half is similar to 8 Trigrams /Bagua without the yin yang symbol. So I am assuming it was a burial artifact and not a good luck charm.

 

Fantastic, TurboSnail! How do you know this? An interest in such things or an adherence to the tradition? And you can read that? If yes, I'm green with envy.

 

I was born in Taiwan and came to the U.S when I was 8. However, I was capable of reading a 300 pages Chinese novel by the age of 10. I did proved my comprehensive knowledge in both traditional and simplified Chinese by having a perfect score in Chinese language test while I served and stationed in Fort Gordon GA.

"Amituofo", the name of Amitahba (?) Buddha in Chinese. Also a greeting word of Chinese Buddhists. Constant repetition, of the name, is said to bring inner peace and joy.

 

Amituofo....Amituofo....Amituofo...........I'm feeling' better already....
