    Hi everyone

    First, welcome to the neighborhood!

Could you give us a better close-up of the date, particularly the "3"? It looks like the date has been altered to me.

Oh brother, a worn copper cent weighing exactly 3.11 nice try, how did the E in we get stamped so low. and you don't trust the experts, because somehow yours is authentic, and your searching for someone to agree with you,, Wrong place.
    I would trust the experts.

Just a note, 1943 copper fakes have been made by china for many years, they are good at duplicating American coins ,money.

So you sent the coin to a TPG, they said the coin is not genuine, but rather than believe them, you wanna take another crack at it?

I don't study copper 43 cents, but from your photo, the mintmark looks completely hinky. It isn't the right style, it's in the wrong place, it's crooked, and it is surrounded by black making it look like it was added. If the mintmark has been messed with, it stands to reason that the 3 is also not legitimate. I have shown an actual 43-S on bronze planchet below for comparison sake.

Grading services use a stereo microscope to compare against known chinese fakes.

Who did you send it to ?

I always thought the S kinda leaned forwards, not backwards .. but unsure.

Im afraid it is a fake. The porous and "soft" details scream that this coin is infact a cast fake.

Tibari I don't want to discourage you from collecting, but honesty is key, its not rude to be honest, its harmful to tell someone what they want to hear, out of respect toward their feelings.

The fabric of the coin looks wrong. The mintmark style is wrong. You aren’t going to have any luck getting this one authenticated

Personally we are never going to see a genuine 1943 (pulled from circulation) here
that hasn't already been verified, authenticated, slabbed, certified.

btw, where did you obtain the 1943 S cent in question and for how much ?

I ask that as a genuine question.
for instance, etsy.com is littered with fake 1943 S cents for $7.99 which are fakes from China.

They used to sell them as "real" but now I see many are sold as "copies" which is what happened with a lot of china sold stuff too.
