I have this token from the 1939 NY's World Fair. Ive seen others with different designs but none with the Lord and Taylor design. Im having a very difficult time finding a price for this token. If anyone knows anything about this, it will be great! THANKS
This was the best I could find: http://buzz.omgili.com/jmp/aHR0cDov...ldmlldy5jZm0/Y2F0aWQ9MjYmdGhyZWFkaWQ9NjM4MTc5 Ribbit :smile
It may be a private issue that was handed out in the Lord & Taylor store during the fair. They're still around, so maybe an e-mail with an attached pic of the token to their company might bring an answer. Guy~
I suppose an outdated reference is better than no reference at all. In Stephen Alpert and Lawrence Elman's "Tokens and Medals, a Guide to the identification and Values of United States Exonumia", 1st edition, 1992, they list the following New York World's Fair (1939-1940) items: 1. silver medal - $25 to $30 2. Palladium medal - $200 3. Other medals - $1.50 to $3 4. Store Cards - $2.50 to $5 5. Elongated cents - $1 to $2 6. Encased cents - $3 to $4 7. Large Lucky Pennies - $5 to $6 Sorry I don't have anything more recent.
