Some of those 17th-century French coins are remarkably well-designed and struck for their time, at least the ones that survived. (I understand many of them were overstruck and reissued.)
Great Thalers, and I love that polished wood background. Mahogany, is it? The light wood looks like mahogany and the darker, walnut?

1624 CZ Stolberg thaler,a piece that's at least very rare imho!I have not managed to find any similar coin,with the T from Stolberg missing and the tiny leaf after K.
1/2 thaler 1758 Liechtenstein.Cleand and removed from a brooch,but with a mintage of only 900 pieces.
