Hello All, Just found out, thanks to the member HEAVYMETAL, that I have a 1972 D IKE clipped planchet. What's interesting about it, is the "cut" or "clip" seems to be exactly between the 9 and 7, in the date (1972). Is the coin worth the cost to have it graded? What would an approximate value be? I'ld really like to have it graded for my collection... Thanks for any information. - Chuck
Personally I say no. There is value there, and collectors and dealers know what it is worth. Unless you want it slabbed for your collection, I don't think the value warrants it. It just increases your cost to the point that when you sell it you are losing money. (Or breaking even.)
Not worth spending ~$50 to get graded. Cool find. Not worth the money to send in though. @paddyman98 and @JCro57 may like taking a look at the pictures.
Thanks to everyone regarding my post! Looks like I won’t have it graded and just add another one to the collection. Makes sense now. Thanks again- take care and have a great night everyone! - Chuck
