She leans back quietly

I did buy that Faustina junior denarius, but also two other coins at our local club, from a very fine collector. This is one, of the emperor Constantius Chlorus, and it is very hard to picture. Made photos outside in the afternoon shadow, but they were very blue. Disblued them with Irfanview, then took most of the color away, and still.
The surface is rough, especially at the obverse, and the real color is very dark green mud. Though rough, I like the detailed portrait of the emperor.

What I like about this robust coin is the sharpness of the lazy goddess at the reverse - except her head, which is blank except for the face and locks of hair.
She's making a picture of herself with a large camera in her right hand, holding a tall scepter in her left hand, and her chair is leaning so far to the right, that I'm not sure she deserves the Fides Militum, the Trust, or Belief, of the Military.

Constantius I, AE follis, Aquileia, AD 305-306. Obv. IMP CONSTANTIVS PF AVG, laureate head right. Rev. FIDES MILITVM, Fides seated left, holding two standards. Mintmark AQS. 24.5 / 28 mm, 10.42 gr. RIC VI Aquileia 59a.

Gotta love that selfie. In Chlorus' case FIDES MILITVM worked out as he did not meet an untimely end at the hands of his troops.

Love it ... I think it's the dreaded "double selfie".. frontal and profile pics with two cameras at once??

Even as a father of two teen aged daughters I have rarely seen this move attempted! :woot:

It's going to be hard to see standards as anything but selfie sticks from now on :D.

I love that Felicitas on the reverse! I buy more coins for their reverse than for their portraits!

That is a great coin, I had to laugh out loud at the selfie stick with an iPad on it.
