I received my 2019 Mint sets today and I noticed I have a processing error. On 1 of the Philadelphia sets I have 2 Lowell quarters and missing the Mariana Island quarter. The 2nd set I have a penny on top of the San Antonio quarter (observe side of quarter) and I assume the penny is a 2019 minted in Philadelphia but I can only see the reverse side of the penny Should I call the mint and return them or is there some added value to these mints sets? Seems like there is a serious issue with quality control in processing the coins. My last order I was short 2 Silver Proof sets from that order but received the 2019 Reverse Proof "W" pennies and folders.
Lol, somebody needs fired, I don't know if there is any value, I would keep it unopened, but that's up to you. may be collectable, the mint errors this year have been widespread.
I'd keep it and leave it unopened as @Autoturf suggested. Now I have to open the sets I received. Nice find.
In more than 70 years collecting I have always wanted to get a mint set or proof set with errors like that.
They are a novelty but probably not of significant extra value. I have no experience with mint sets in this type of holder, but in the old pliofilm holders a packaging error such as this would add a dollar or two to the value.
