I have a list of references I use here. For large cents (and other early type), NGC's VarietyPlus page has just about all varieties shown. Take a look at S-255. Yours is a nice, late die stage with a big reverse cud.

If you want to have the coin attributed you can use Variety Vista. They have all the info on Dr Wiles website at variety vista

Conder101, one of our several very knowledgeable copper experts, recommends the Goldberg Coins catalogs of the Dan Holmes Collection.
This amazing collection encompassed (most?) every single variety of large cents from 1793 to 1857. I consult it very often myself, if anything, to look at pictures of Holmes' incredible large cent collection.
    You can try this:

There are also 'downloadable' Holmes catalogs that you can search for on-line. The photos on these are a bit small, but you can expand them.

Let me second messydesk’s recommendation of NGC’s VarietyPlus feature, which extends across the full range of variety-collectible US coins. Tom Deck, who runs largecents.net, is also an excellent source for early coppers, both buy and sell.

S-255 was correct as stated above. Nice late die state with the reverse rim break above STATES.
