This is all just grease filled die stuff happening on this coin right, or, is it wear n tear and damage? Any certainty on what year this is? A fun find in my first roll!
Just as long as it’s not deliberate. At first I thought the affected areas were rubbed off and then, I wasn’t sure.
I had to try and take better photos. Does my missing number look like a 2? Are my A and M close enough? Is my FG in the right space? Is this what I might hope it is?
On an assumption that it were, just for giggles, would the other attributes be inline with the variety I am proposing?
How I got those dates mixed up idk:/ I can't tell if it is a 2 or a 3. Maybe if you try a rubbing with a graphite pencil.
So I think what the OP is implying is... are their any OTHER diagnostics of a 1992 D close AM (CAM) besides the CAM itself. I don't know but at least that is the question as best as I can cipher. I seriously doubt that could be authenticated as such from the pictures and what is left of the date.
Might a microscope reveal the number under the grease? Sometimes I see a 2 and sometimes I see a 3. Yes, you are correct. I wonder if this could be a FS-901.
Can you tell, if anything, that’s going on in America? This seems to correspond with what’s going on on the obverse.
Sorry I can't help further, I ordered the CPG for cents several weeks back and they tell me it is still on back order until June...
