This is all just grease filled die stuff happening on this coin right, or, is it wear n tear and damage?

Any certainty on what year this is?

A fun find in my first roll!

Just as long as it’s not deliberate. At first I thought the affected areas were rubbed off and then, I wasn’t sure.

I had to try and take better photos.

Does my missing number look like a 2?
Are my A and M close enough?
Is my FG in the right space?

Is this what I might hope it is?

    Not sure it's a 2.

On an assumption that it were, just for giggles, would the other attributes be inline with the variety I am proposing?

That is a question I cannot answer as I am not a variety collector. Sorry.

The weight of your cent will tell you if it is 1982 or 1983.

    1992. Do you see a 2?

How I got those dates mixed up idk:/
I can't tell if it is a 2 or a 3. Maybe if you try a rubbing with a graphite pencil.

So I think what the OP is implying is... are their any OTHER diagnostics of a 1992 D close AM (CAM) besides the CAM itself. I don't know but at least that is the question as best as I can cipher. I seriously doubt that could be authenticated as such from the pictures and what is left of the date.

Might a microscope reveal the number under the grease? Sometimes I see a 2 and sometimes I see a 3.

Yes, you are correct. I wonder if this could be a FS-901.

Can you tell, if anything, that’s going on in America? This seems to correspond with what’s going on on the obverse.

Sorry I can't help further, I ordered the CPG for cents several weeks back and they tell me it is still on back order until June...

That looks like PMD of some kind of stain on America, to me, from what I see in the pictures.

All I can see is a stain and the remains of a fingerprint.

If a stain, why does the stain line appear between the letters and not on them?
