Rhodos didrachm and hemidrachm exact same design

    I was browsing and I noticed a Rhodos didrachm having the exact same obverse design as a Rhodos hemidrachm. Is this an unusual practise?

    I read somewhere before that some Athens tetradrachms are based on the Athens dekadrachm as well (if I remember correctly).

    This are the coins I am speaking about, the top is the didrachm and the bottom is the hemidrachm:

    Could the hemidrachm design be based on the didrachm, or the other way around?

    There are people here with far more expertise than me, but the 3/4 facing head of Helios is common to a large percentage of Rhodian coins. These two are indeed striking in their similarity, but looking at a larger sample would likely show more coins that look a good bit alike
