Here is an 1800 cent which i bought in a lot of about 25 US coins many (many) years ago. There was also an 1802 cent in VF and a feuchtwanger cent in EF in that lot. The rest was silver.
I would very much like to hear you opinions on this coin, including if you think the coin is genuine. I did not pay a lot of money for that lot, so if it turns out not to be genuine, i would be a dissapointed, but it would not be a big loss.

I have weighed it, and it is well within range of the nominal weigth of 10.89 grams. I have also been able to attribute it as
S-212 with chips at 00, and a spike in the inner curve of C(E).
Thank you in advance for your opinions and comments.

    It looks genuine to me.

I would say VF-35. Nice color and surfaces on what appears to be a problem free example of a hard to find date.

    Gorgeous coin! :hammer:

As to authenticity, I haven't a clue. The experts will weigh in on this one, I'm certain of that, and I will be watching to see what they say.

Ps: Do you need a son to leave/will these to? If so, I'm available and don't forget I was the first to offer my services!

Sorry - but plenty of others have already offered. You joined to late.:)

Very nice coin - no issues to me. I would say VF30. Very - very nice. Keep it up Eduard.

Yeah - but so am I. Make we should have a contest and the winner is the one that Eduard will have to adopt.:mouth:

Why is it the parents have to do the adopting? Why can't the future step-child(ren) do the adopting? Life is SOOOOO unfair! :headbang:

Great coin! I'd say EF, and struck on a very nice planchet.

Thank you all for your comments and opinions. I am now reassured the coin is genuine. I was doubtful, in part because i paid so little for it, so i thought this could not be true..... But it is! I think i just go lucky with that lot this coin was part of.
Conder, i think it is quite amazing how you can determine a coin has been cleaned just by looking at a picture. I happen to agree with you; i also think the obverse in particular has been cleaned. Maybe not polished, but cleaned (not harshly though).

For all of you wanting me to adopt you: i will talk to my wife first.
By the way, i just found today again my copy of the Stacks catalogue of the 1999 John Whitney Walter sale of "Coins of 1796". Looking at those coins make me wish he had adopted me... absolutely beautiful coins! all dated 1796, many of them finest known. Wow!
    Regards,
