Yes, but I still would have been off. Based on a couple of years ago, I would have guessed $250 based on those photos. Of course, since it looks different in hand, with a video I might have suggested even higher. The market is very choppy. Regardless it is a nice coin and is tough to find with gorgeous color like that (as you already know). P.S. Was it an auction or fixed price sale?
Oh, good, that means I can guess. I had this one on my watch list for a while. Just never got around to pulling the trigger. Nice coin! I will guess $1200.
I paid $2,762. Personally, I don't think anyone should get a point, but by rule, Ksorbo is the winner.
It seems the people guessing (including me) just didn’t view it as worth a big premium over guide or were not aware of the market circa 2008. A point does not have to be awarded and you can post again if you want.
Nah, I'm just a little salty that I twice turned down offers over $2K, but then ended up selling it for less because I had an emergency and needed to raise cash quickly. FWIW, it is the prettiest rainbow toned SLQ I have ever seen.
It's definitely one of the better ones, being surpassed by very few coins. I had Mark Feld look at one for me at Heritage a few years back in MS67. I cast what I thought was a nuclear bid at $10,000 (well above price guide) only to be blown out of the water. I'll try to find it some time. I know you and a few other toning fans would love it. Mark really liked it in hand. At the time, non FH 67 NGC coins were going for $2500-$3500. This one sold for $18,800. https://coins.ha.com/itm/standing-l...1-4756.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515
Lol, I remember that coin, and remember thinking it was way out of my league! I had an MS66 that was really nice, maybe I will post that one next when I get back to my computer.
Hey it happens to us all. I’ve turned down a few offers where I thought the coin was worth more only to watch no one else want it (and later sell for less). Those times are usually offset by when you are correct and don’t take the first offer (and end up selling for more).
