SmokinJoe (Yeah....I know....Hopefully they will notice them later....I had something like that happen to me too....I had been going to my bank to exchange my rolled coins for their rolled coins...I always tried to get this one cashier who was an older lady and extremely nice to me every time I got her....It was almost Christmas and I went into the bank for more rolled coins and I had to wait a little to make sure I got the nice old lady cashier and once I did, and she ended up giving me my exchanged rolled coins, I gave her a 1899 Indian head cent and told her " Merry Christmas"....She smiled at me, took the coin and put it in her pocket and told me to have a Merry Christmas too...I left there shaking my head cause I could not believe what had just happened...I mean...Not even a thank you?..??...Oh well, what ya gonna do?..Move on.) Just as a thought, which might bring more successful outcomes, do you think it might be worthwhile to ask the person if they collect coins? If they do, say "Here's a one for your collection". If they don't, say "Here is a good coin to start a collection with".
Your probably right Sholom, but I was thinking she works at a bank dealing with money every day so she should know ....But maybe she concentrates more on numbers than actual money/coins...Ahh...I did good so that's all that counts I guess
I have found that there are quite a few employees at banks that have no idea of any coin or currency that isn't current. Especially the younger tellers.
You are of course right Nyatii, I should have looked at that situation a little differently than what I did...Live n Learn
