This is a common misconception. Coins can be pulled from circulation that receive an UNC grade. MS60-70 does not refer to whether a coin has been circulated, but whether it shows signs of circulation. A lightly circulated coin can still have luster and relatively few marks, which allows for it to be assigned an MS grade. @lawdogct

It’s about all I can get here in Germany. Nickels, however, have always been my best CRH’ing endeavor.

Bank ordered me 4 boxes of halves this week. First order they have done for me in over a year!
All the wrappers were machine wrapped but they were wrapped in Loomis $25 dollar wrappers. So they were longer than a normal half dollar roll. I got shorted on a couple rolls. I imagine it had to do with how the machines were set up. Either way, managed to pull 4 pieces of silver (63P Ben, 64P Ken, 65, and 69) and an 86S Proof.

Very odd, I’ve never see half dollar rolls like those. Glad you found some silver!

They are normally the yellow Loomis half dollar wrappers. Guess they ran out of paper.

Quarters are really tough man...but now there’s new founded interest due to the “W”s!

Agreed and I honestly wouldn’t be doing them if I were in the US. I don’t expect to see any W’s when I CRH here in Europe.

Here's the best I could do with photos of the '68D I found the other day. I don't think it's a TDO, but the mintmark does seem to be at least doubled or maybe tripled. Any thoughts? Pic1.jpg Pic2.jpg Pic3.jpg

In the meantime, I was skunked on $50 BWR dimes. Picked up more halves today and will see how that pans out.

4 banks this evening on my far-away from work/home run that I do about every 3 months yielded $300 CWR halves, $90 MWR halves, and $1.50 loose halves.

I was confident the CWRs were a dump, but given there were no markings from local hunters on the wrappers I had a glimmer of hope, which became the gleam of silver!

    8, 40%’ers
    5 NIFC

Nothing in the MWRs or loose, but I’m satisfied!

    Happy hunting everyone :) 4733C013-D7EE-4872-9058-5743629FAEED.jpeg 1CA1D3B7-AF2F-43DA-8595-7A657105761E.jpeg

A week ago I picked up 200 in halves. From a box that was half black wrappers and half yellow (all loomis).

I had a incling that one of the enders was silver so I opened it and it was a 1964! I showed it to the teller, she thought it was cool. She then asked me about a 1954 quarter she had and I said it was silver. She offered it to me and I said of course!

The rolls produced 3 more 40% halves.

I went today and the other 300 from that box was still there! I am excited to open them!

EDIT: I forgot one of my favorite finds from this 2/5 box! A 1987 P. My first!!! I forgot about it because the silver is still sitting on my desk but the 1987 is already in my book

Drove down to The Woodlands, TX Saturday in pouring rain! Yesterday was beautiful. Took Mom to Mass, and had lunch at her favorite BBQ place with her grand kids and great grand kids. Topped it off by searching a box with her and my wife. Mom found the best coin, a 1963-D Franklin and was jazzed. Good times!

Back in the states and on my bank runs again...stopped by a bunch on my way home from work, mainly with the hope of finding solid 2019 quarter rolls to hunt for the W, but alas, no luck with that anywhere. I did however, find a bunch of great bills...a bunch of star notes, including this monstrous silver certificate haul at the last bank I stopped at. 48 of them, most in great condition, and 5 or 6 star notes as well. Strangely, this actually ties my personal record for most silver certificates found at one bank. 40D9BFA8-5DBB-4665-B9F7-92940F80DF4D.jpeg

Last week one of the tellers at one of the four banks on the far side of town from me told me another teller had a lot of halves, but they were off work. She told me I could try back next week, soooo I went there after work today.

The teller who had been off work was there and had $100 in cwrs and $3 loose. I could see and hear a silver in the loose, so I knew I wasn’t skunked!

The cwrs had a lot of au 70’s and 80’s coins, plus a few bu coins. I kept the bu coins. The last roll held a ‘68D!

Maybe the two 40%ers will pay for the gas I burned? :hilarious:

Oh well, the teller was nice and said she would keep halves aside for me, so maybe it’ll pay off later.
