Recently found this penny and quarter - really am not sure what to think. I can make out 1982 on the penny and it weighs in at 3 grams so I assume it is copper but appears to be rusting? Can't be sure if it has a mint mark or not. The reverse is rotated about 20 degrees. The quarter I just can not ascertain myself whether it is mint damage or post-mint damage. Any info or thoughts would be appreciated!
Not trying to be rude but neither of them deserve a flip. The cent is corroded, and the quarter is damaged.
Welcome to CT. You will usually get better results if you post well focused, properly oriented, cropped full obverse and reverse of any coin you post and then close ups with specific questions you would like answered. Also, post "full image" rather than the thumbnails.
What he said ... We're lazy and we get a lot of questions from newbies, usually asking if damaged pocket change is some fabulous valuable error because they saw a stupid video on youtube. Anything you can do to make it easier to answer your question makes it more likely you'll get an answer. For example, P&G had already responded, so I didn't even bother to look at the images...
@DReese Both coins are what I call.. DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged Also.. by looking at the Cent the Obverse is slightly tilted in the 2x2 holder which will make the Reverse seem tilted more. It might be slightly tilted but not as much as you think. It does not matter anyway because it is within tolerance.
