I have a few speciality sub-collections that probably go way beyond what some would consider looking at.

Within the COS II series (RIC and BMCRE call this Emesa) for Septimius Severus there are a number of coins that end COS II but have a style that is closer to the IMP II series and these coins all come with a variety of deviations from the standard COS II obverse legend. I am aware of 9 different obverse dies and chase after examples whenever I see them offered.

I have a gallery of all my examples over on Forvm, which can be seen here:-

I have numbered (quite arbitrarily) the obverse dies as O1 to O9.

The following coin is a new one to me and is my 6th examples with my O3 obverse and is a reverse type that I have not seen with the O3 die before. I have the reverse type with my O1, O5 and O7 dies but haven't any reverse die matches.

I am also searching for reverse die links to other series as this might at some stage provide some evidence where these peculiar coins fit in with the other series.
