Searching for a “W” mintmark.

Recently I bought a box of quarters hoping to score one of the new “W” mintmarks.

    Found one.

Today I bought 4 rolls of quarters and when I cracked open the first roll I saw a large number of shiny new rims twinkling back at me! In fact MOST of the coins appeared to be new.

And the FIRST one was a “W”!

And ALL of those bright shiny rims were 2019 quarters. In fact there were 122 new quarters.

    121 bear a “P” mintmark.

Only ONE has the “W”. A tad disappointing.

BUT there was a very grungy 1961 tucked in as well. That makes it much A8DC4384-AB4F-476B-B8DB-27C958A88111.jpeg F75F2ED9-F209-4287-8352-82B8CF0A6433.jpeg better.

Most people can search a hundred rolls of quarters without finding silver. Maybe you should hurry back to that bank...

    Good finds!

Well, I searched 37,640 quarters just a couple days ago and found zero W quarters, so count your blessings. :)

Are you still on the other side of an ocean from the new releases?

You've done better than me. I have searched about $2k worth of quarters and have no W's to show for it. Just a 62d, 64d, and a CUD.

Be happy you got one. Most of us are still looking, gave up or don't live near a dump zone.

I am about 30% into box #2 and have about 40 of the Lowell w quarters. Still haven’t found the second one. If someone wants to buy them from me well below what ebay is charging, send me a pm.

Nice finds! I have only searched a few hundred dollars and have found nothing. I'm not heavy into it at the moment but still, great find on your behalf!

You are lucky to even find one. Most of the new coins were shipped to large cities and will take awhile to circulate into rural area banks. The banks where I live only deal in recycled rolls from business'. I inquired about ordering rolls from Lomis, to no avail. Guess later I'll go to a larger city bank.

The nearest drop city to me is an hour away. We only get used recycled coin.

Haven't seen any in this area of Indiana and probably won't. Most of our banks move change from branch to branch and don't order coinage any more. So I think I am never going to get my hands on one, let alone a roll to search. I keep looking for a bank that gets armored car deliveries but I have turned up none and I don't want to pay $20 bucks on Ebay for what is probably a passing trend.
