Pawn Shop Penny

    picked this up today for less than a small cup of coffee. I was a little iffy on it being I’m not familiar with the packaging and, well, it’s a pawn shop. The other packages had horrible coins in them like someone swapped them out. This was the only penny and the best of the lot. If these sets were sealed at time of manufacture, they weren’t anymore, mine had fingernail damage on the capsule. Whatever, it’s a Canadian penny and looks okay.

    Curious how non specific the description on the packaging is and that it ain’t a King George.

    In 1964 Canada changed the obverse profile of the Queen. It was a big deal then so I put away several mint rolls of them. I still have them

    That's pretty lame that they couldn't even be bothered to stick a George VI cent in there.

    Yeah, it all seemed a little sketchy but, it’s a Canadian penny and I hadn’t had my daily dose of a new coin yet so I caved. If I had waited for the mail before I went out, I would have gotten my fix.

    You mean Tim Hortons? I never cared for their coffee.
