CT is fast becoming the source for me & there are 2 notes I haven't found discussed. I would like the community's thoughts on 1) The Barr Dollar and 2) "Web" Notes. I know basic info on both but are they worth hunting?

Just looking for opinions - are they worth saving or just hype?

I searched maybe ~$100k worth of ones and have found 2 Barr dollars and 1 Web note. I kept them just for curiousity's sake.

The regular Barr dollars were WAY over-hyped.
If you want to collect then get one.

Barr star dollars do have some merit so they are worth saving.

As for Webb notes, I haven't gotten into them (yet) so I don't know.

Seems like I almost always find Barr dollars when I look at coins in estates locally. Sold some in the antique mall for a small premium but nothing major for me.

I have 2 Barr notes and surprisingly enough, I acquired them in the same way, at the same place, two weeks apart, and they are the only 2 Barr notes I have ever held in my hand in my entire life. One is VG, the other is Poor.

Having never heard of WEB notes before, I just did some quick research. I will now be watching for them. Certain ones are valued $300 - $600 in circulated condition.

There is a reference for Web notes that lists them all, and presents pricing. It is "The Standard Handbook of $1 Web-Fed Notes-1988A, 1993, 1995. Third edition is dated May 2018. It is by Bob Kvederas Jr. & Bob Kvederas Sr. It provides a plethora of information on these notes. I especially like the error note section. It also has a place to check off the notes you have in your collection.

Normally we shie away from most things on youtube, but web notes are real and certain ones can be valuable. I think that since they may not have been very well known about, there may be a good chance of catching some in the wild.
I know I will be looking.

Web notes were printed on an experimental press that later got scrapped, so they are quite rare. With these notes, condition and district matters though.

Barr notes are not rare, and there are plenty on ebay for $2/$3. So unless the Barr note is in nice condition, or a star, it isn't going to be worth much.

I would say that both notes are worth saving, however. Out of all the ones I've seen in a decade, I've only found 1 Barr and 1 Web in circulation.

How do you know a Webb note from a regular note?

By the plate number on the reverse - if it is at the top by Trust it is a web note. All others the number is at the bottom.

Read the link I provided. It explains it all, including which ones are the most valuable.
