What problem? Only problem I see is that I still don't have such an extensive collection. Put some in an album, and the FBL ones in plastic holders.
@Legomaster1 Are they worth going through to look for FBL’s? I have a few hundred dollars worth of Franklins. Just not sure what they’re worth. Any insight?
I haven’t gone through them all ro Be honest. I just buy them in bulk and throw them in a bag unless they’re really nice condition or toned. One of these days I’ll sift through them and look for these types when I have a day to burn.
FBLs are typically worth much more than raw silver Franklins. If you happen to come across some, post them.
@Legomaster1 Well I went through a few tonight when I got home...maybe $40 worth.. found these two but can’t get really get a great picture. The bottom one is crazy toned and I can’t get it to show all the way. I’ll go through some more tomorrow. Maybe I’ll find some better ones. I’d say these look as good or better than the ones online that were examples? Maybe not.
I don't subscribe to the PCGS definition of FBL, anyway. They only use the bottom lines. NGC uses both sets of lines. Chris
So would the ones above be FBL’s? Or should I not bother to search the rest as I’m sure I’ll have more since I just went through a sprinkling of mine. And the bottom one has the same continuous lines as the top one but I can’t get the right camera angle.
@cpm9ball So I went through about $150 worth of them in that pile and found 12 total that I would say are FBL’s If the ones I posted are considered FBL’s. I probably had another 25 that were partials but not complete. @Legomaster1 you never replied if those are considered FBL’s. If you could give me your input I’d really appreciate it. Either way, I might put one or two aside and maybe sell the rest if someone wants them.
Sorry I wasn't able to reply before. The ones you posted aren't FBLs because there are several minor nicks/dents which already disrupt the bell line patterns. But, being nicer condition coins, they will still be worth a little over melt value, depending on the year.
Thanks for the response. Yeah, I figured as much. Anyways, that’s why I don’t play the high grade coin game. I buy close to melt as I can get and don’t worry about grades and stuff like this.
