The ship is nearly complete on reverse of this bronze coin. There are 2 Emperors on the obverse, facing each other. The coin weighs 12.25 g. Please help identify. Thanks..
There's a counter- mark on obverse between the chins of the 2 Emperors. I think it can be identified with a little cleaning and better focused photography. Maybe that would help decide the mint. At hand, it seems like a dolphin or Victory.
Sure. There's a third coin that I didn't buy because it's rather expensive and even worn. It's a silver Greek Tet. Obverse is typically Victor Mature. Unbelievable. I have the photos though. Here they are.. Just for fun..
As a big fan of countermarks, I am especially fond of the OP. Whenever I find a countermark, I go to this page on FORVM http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=546 There, I search for the host coin and hope I get a hit - a collector called Automan has wonderful stuff and provides a lot of information. One hit I got for Phoenicia was particularly interesting - http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=546&pos=112 Good luck!
