    Your coin is a good example of machine doubling.

    The valuable type of doubling occurs on hubs that are used thousands of times to strike thousands of coins; hence why the same doubling can be observed on multiple coins from the same year and mint.

    Another type of doubling, which is much more common and does not usually carry collectors value, occurs when dies wobble slightly as they strike a coin. This is known as machine doubling and is unique on every coin.
