Anyone having problems with US Mint

I was wondering if any one was having issues with receiving their orders from the US Mint. Four out of my last seven orders I had to fill out a form because I hadn't received my coins after 30 days from shipment date. It is a total of $410 and is starting to get to me. Does anyone know who to make a complaint to other than customer service. They stated that there has been a lot of theft lately.

I have gotten everything I have ordered from the Mint. Just last week my Monroe First Spouse coins arrived.

If I have a complaint it is that the Mint sends me the shipment notification the same day my coins arrive. I would prefer a little advance notice instead.

I have never had a problem receiving an order from the mint. You can file a report with the post office, the problem may be in your area. Good luck and I hope you find out what is happen to your orders.

Last year was a bad one for me. Out of 4 orders, I cancelled 3 because I got tired of waiting after 3 months with no items. So far this year I have received all my orders in a timely matter.

the mint is fine. it's the post office that steams me! last couple of deliveries were just plopped in the mail box............no signing for or anything! i guess i was lucky they weren't stolen! too much incompetence today.

No problems for me. Last year, I returned about 40% of the presidential dollar proof sets because of defects but they were replaced without any hassle. So far, the ones I've received this year are better.

What I like about the mint is that they are predictable and reasonable. You can order online, they keep you informed about the status of your order, they don't bill your credit card until they ship an item, you have 30 days to return something for any reason (including you just don't want it), their fixed-rate shipping charges are really low and they honor replacements and refunds promptly. I wish all merchants were as dependable.

This happens to me quite often as well. Twice I had registered mail packages filled with hundreds of dollars worth of items, just stuffed in my mailbox... and I live in a rough neighborhood.

Eventually I lost a package and of course my mailman says he never saw it, so now I just get things mailed to my work address.

Usually it's a specific mailman and not the organization that's being slack. Do what I did and call his supervisor.

Their default is Fedex for items over a certain dollar value, which I think is as safe as registered mail and faster. and seems to have superior tracking capability. However, the mint will use registered mail at your request for an additional fee. I once had to complain because they were leaving Fedex packages on my doorstep (including a box of 10 silver proof sets) without a signature. Now that I have specified my preference, they always require a signature and photo ID before they will release the package. They use DHL in partnership with the US Postal Service for less valuable items.

The Mint's fulfillment center in Tennessee was hit by a tornado during that wild weather we had a few weeks ago. That may be a possible reason for a shipping delay of a week or two, but my 2008 President $ proof set was sent to the shipping center on 2/25 according to USPS tracking and was delivered on 3/23! Sometimes I don't get it. I can order fishing equipment from Conn. this afternoon and receive it tomorrow. No special shipping. Happens regularly. And don't get me started on the we have been notified that there is a package,,, message that is still posted on the tracking site two days after delivery.

Learned my lesson about their Standard Shipping service a couple of days ago. The US Mint's website says it could take 1 to 2 weeks. Or even longer than that: Got a message from them ("We shipped the items listed below today") on March 7. And only seventeen days later the coins actually arrived in California ... except that I had already left then. No idea whether the Mint or USPS is always that slow with "standard" shipping. Quality of the coins, however, has always been OK so far - no reason for any complaints.

I ordered three Proof Silver Eagles from the Mint. When they arrived, only one had the C.O.A. in the box. I called the Mint and the person told me that they would send the other two C.O.A.'s right away. That was 2 weeks ago. Maybe I should just return the two Silver Eagles and order two more from them? What a pain!

Finally got my State Quarters silver proof set today. I've been on the subscription program with the mint for about 6 or 7 years now and it usually doesn't take very long for the package to arrive once I get an e-mail confirming shippment. This sucker has been languishing in Jersey City for the last 10 days and, from the sad condition of the package, been through a war. Contents were fine...quarters look great! I'm just glad the package got here. I wasn't looking foward to putting in a claim for non-receipt.

I've had a problem with the fulfillment center Memphis. Sent for two (1/10th and One ounce Gold). Got the coins late in March (covid-19 isssues) and both coins were "MISSING". Shocked, I filled out a report which form says expect 4-6 weeks review. 77 days, 11 weeks later I get a letter saying they sent coins and I need to pay - $2420). Called several times and finally they say declined file claim with UPS. UPS says they don't accept claims after 60 days (6 weeks). NOW WHAT? US MInt doesn't answer my calls??
