I tryed it out and it works amazing alot less thinking and digging finds it right off the bat! It's way bigger than I expected. Well worth $35.00 with light, sound and vibration. And I had to get a leg holster for my coin finds ex. it has a pinpointer holder too works perfectly! The bag I was using drove me nuts it always got in my way. The pinpointer found these quarters right away. Much easier.
Looks like a Garrett Brand rip-off.. but hey it works! China duplicates everything! RAIT is some fancy terminology they made up! Here is mine. They nicknamed it the Garrett Carrot
I am assuming your pin-pointer uses a 9 Volt battery. Get ready to start buying them a lot. They will last about 6 detecting hunts on average. My friend just purchased a pin-pointer that is rechargeable. It uses a USB plug. you recharge it like a cellphone
Yes it uses a 9volt my metal detector already used plenty of them I'll go to the dollar store and get alot of them.
Do you know why it is orange? Or red orange like yours? About 3 times I have walked away from my pin-pointer by mistake.. The color is so you can see it better when you go back looking for it! It works!
About 35 years of detecting and have never used a pinpointer. I have been planning on getting one, then I am sure I will wonder how I got by without it!
The $20 or so China import on Amazon has the identical case and location of buttons, etc, except the name Garrett and the price $127, that I suspect both imported them. I do not metal detect, but cheap enough for something if you ever drop a key in the yard or something. Jim
Jimmy Hoffa has been found Living in Chicago, and voting early and often, as the saying goes, along with his wife Amelia Earheart.
What I used to do was set the detector down nearby and when I dug, run the plug or each handful over the coil until I found the coin. It meant one less thing to carry when detecting.
