I feel like this is obvious post-mint damage but after doing some searching I found an image of a “similar” coin (also attached) that is titled “Die Crack Cud/Strike Error” and thought why not throw it out there just to be sure.... Is this nickel just the victim of what looks like an angry hammer or something else?
    Appreciate any feedback! Thanks.

Maybe you should go into the "Angry Orchard" and knock down a few.

The image you have compared your nickel to is also not a mint error..

Where are you getting this incorrect information from?

what is collectors.com? that person knows nothing.

Haha! I knew I might dig myself a hole on this one!!! The picture of the other coin was just an image that came up on a Google search. I haven’t seen anything like this and I couldn’t resist asking :)
Thanks for the replies though! I appreciate everyone’s time!

I think it was caught in the "wheels & cogs" section. I find a lot of stuff like this but it is just damaged... good to look at. check this one. Just my opinion.
