1964 Quarter

found this in a old car , never seen nothing like this before what y’all thank on my cool find, it’s got a lip about 30 thousands on both sides of coin. Nice find I thank.

Can't tell from the pics - is the edge smooth or still reeded?

 

If the edge is smooth rather than reeded, the coin was probably "spooned".

It looks to me to have a little bit of "dryer" history.

 

spooned or aka: 'tapped' on the edges

It's damaged, but still worth it's silver value.

 

I have one of these. If you guys see it you will be AMAZED! Nothing I've ever seen before.

 

I got a full box of halves that had the dryer treatment, very difficult to tell 40%ers from normal edges. Yuck.

Yes, we must all keep in mind that some of these kids spend most of their day with their thumbs glued to their iPhones. How can we expect them to go home and pull up their images from their laptop or desktop?
