It’s on reverse side , I know there is 2 tails dime but this is one side and I do believe it’s not nature that done this. I posted both side so please let me know what y’all thank. Thanks and god bless all
You seem to have come to the conclusion that nature did not do this, but why not? It's possible only one side was facing up when this happened and maybe only for a short while. Just long enough for something to affect it. I say environmental damage but wait for the others to chime in.
If you're talking about the weak lettering on the reverse of the dime, it appears to be a filled die strike, where grease or other machinery oil prevented the design elements from being full struck up. If not that, then you need to be more specific as to what you're referring to.
Looks like the Die was filled with grease and debris. The grease used in the coining process is extremely thick compared to what you are used to.
Yes the back side I seen were that was error, it was called 2 sided tail dime same way as that coin just not both sides. It’s clean why I say error but I not a pro. Here is picture of it , die being Being full hits and then misses right ? What I have seen.
I like how the rear devices pop like a proof with all the lettering blurred out. Fail to see how EnvDam would not touch the center of the coin. Gotta be grease as stated above. Since the advent of cel phones, people can be quite inattentive. Die polisher probably had a facebook alert. Weird enough to keep. Worth at least a dime
