i am surrounded by idiots in the form of incompetant post and mint people. first the mint sends me defective coins and i also get some bad coins from an ebay seller. i send the coins back through the post office paying more than $25 for their return guess what happens those morons deliver the coins to me instead of the recepients and now the seller has an excuse not to accept the return coz i missed the time line its enough to drive me nuts
I use to be a contractor for the post office......so I know your pain..Yeah the post office distribution center that I use to drop loads off at was a real shocker.....I would pick up a full load of mail on a 45 foot trailer....mostly with first class mail, priority, and express....not to mention a few locked bags of registered mail, and then wait, and wait, till I got off loaded.....Yeah the post office is a real treat. Ive been on loading docks were Ive found mail that was post marked from 1980's.....lol Its just unbelievable how mail can NOT get delivered. I guess after seeing what REALLY happens on the INSIDE Im just amazed how anything get delivered at all...
Now I probably should be looking for this, but I think I still have a few inside phone numbers.....I might be able to find a few numbers directly to the Post Master. What post office did you take it too, and what town was it going to? YOu can pm me if you would like????
Good one Hobo! I used to work for a contract hauler part time. Easy stuff, in theory. Brought my load to Hebron, IN one day. Got there and we realized that the idiots had loaded all of the mail for Hobart NOT Hebron. They started getting on MY butt because of this. Sorry kids YOU loaded it not me. Don't kill the messenger.
Most times I see the seller needs to be contacted within the stated time period not return to be made.
Any decent seller would be understanding of a post office screwup and would be flexible about return time. I know I would be, as long as the buyer notified me in a timely manner that they'd be returning the coins. tradernick
Man, I agree with tradernick, see if he'll still let your return them. If not, I'd consider having a talk with the post office you sent them too. Best of luck to you man. :thumb: Phoenix
Update: Everything worked out and i have my refund. thanks everyone for listening i have another sad story to say about ebay but i will wait till after the outcome. I cant wait for the heritage auction in 2 weeks time.
no for me they send it by usps there was this one time i was geting coins in 5 figs via the post man that was scary
Fed Ex and UPS have shipping contracts with the Postal Service. The Postal Service ships mail by way of Fed Ex, UPS and the airlines. So if something is damaged or stolen it could be some other source besides the Postal Service. Lou
Well to be specific.....USPS doesnt have their own planes. They have contracts with ups and fed ex. Fed ex planes and UPS planes carry US mail. Just a thought
Besides a shipment of 10 silver $s the PO only loses a Coinworld magazine on average every 6 weeks. Maybe I have a coin collecting postperson, maybe not. Bruce
