We have not 1 but 2 seperate threads by 2 different members both about a 1943-S copper cent. Both coins posted by the respective Op's are different.

Needless to say they both think they have the real thing.

If a man doesent have a dream, lol, I think your chances of winning powerball are better than a 43 copper.

If I ever won the Powerball I would first buy a certified 1943 copper! :hilarious:

I don't think these are very expensive as so many people seem to have one. All of a sudden we've hit the mother lode.

Actually, I ran it by Ilya Zlobin & he said it's worth exactly "$4,400", so there's that...:singing::cigar::cyclops::p

Maybe the secret hoard has been discovered and spread around by the BEP/USM rare coin circulation effort:
(After 68 years in a Montana bank vault, a previously unknown hoard of over 220,000 1943-S copper cents was discovered in 2011. Put away for years by a prominent Montana family, most of the coins in this remarkable hoard were still in original mint-sewn bags and were untouched by the wear and tear of general circulation. Shipped from the San Francisco Mint right to a Federal Reserve Bank in Montana, the coins missed the traditional movement between the mint and local banks, and escaped the commonplace usage in commerce.) - originally published 4/1/2019 ;)

Truth be told, I read an article last month about the great coin hunt, how people are releasing older collector coins and bills into circulation. Since we have had two of these extremely rare coins found in the same month I believe that is what took place.

Now if you believe that please pm me. I have a Bridge for sale. It was just refurbished and it collects good revenue in tolls and it's on a major highway so the income is steady. :):cigar:
