    Hello Everyone,

I found this Lincoln Cent hunting a box of pennies and I'm not sure what's going on with it. It weighs 2.5 grams and looks way to nice to have had the plating removed with some kind of acid bath.

It has some copper spread throughout the fields and devices like glitter and some of the coin still has luster. It's a weird coin and I'm not sure if its a genuine mint error or if it has been tampered with. I would love to hear your opinions. Thanks S20190430_0004.jpg

    Hi:)
    Welcome to ct!
It looks like the zinc cent is deteriorating. Very common.
