Hi hi, hope you are all having a great day. I was poking around in my unsorted coins earlier and ran across my 1970 s cents and took a picture of them, one looks like it has doubling on the L,ber in liberty, in God we trust and the date. Looking at Ken Potter's site I'm guessing it's a large date. Will you explain the doubling damage and which variety please? Thank you, Mel.
Nice coin, But your photo is to out of focus for me to say anything about being a Doubled Die. Or a LG/SM Date. http://www.varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/DDO 1970-S.htm
Thank you for the link and I apologise for the blurry picture, lol, I feel silly now, if it is just a blurry pic! I'll upload a new one in a bit, going to have to take some med. for carpal tunnel first.
Lol, I've heard it all now. Here are some new pics and they are much clearer, confirming the jostled camera theory. The "whole" S series. Thank you and sorry for the bother. Mel.
I'm trying to learn too. I've been saving them for decades though, my dad started me back in the 70's, we would go to the bank every Friday for a bag of coins, lol.
Thank you Jim. I'm trying to learn coins, a new cell phone that's over my head and being on a forum again.
My dad used to love collecting coins and my grandma liked buying sets from the mint, she would get so excited when they came, she would gush over them then go squirrel them away in her stash place, lol. I want to pass that down to my grandchildren.
