How many clues can you find in this listing to support my theory that this seller doesn't know jack about coins? http://cgi.ebay.com/1802-DRAPED-BUS...ryZ11947QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
For starters: VERY RARE PHILADELPHIA MINT ISSUE!!!!!!! (all large cents were minted in Philadelphia. Now if he had a Denver or San Francisco large cent for sale that would be scarce lol) Next we have: MANY WOULD CALL THIS A VERY FINE+ (yeah, I would go one step further and say that many ebay sellers would call that AU-50. But how does that have a bearing on the coin's actual grade?) And of course we have: THIS COIN WITH MEET OR EXCEED ANA GRADING STANDARDS (poor grammer aside, what does meeting ANA Grading standards really mean anyway. If I have a coin that grades G-4 doesn't that coin meet the standards???)
I think the guy doesn't know how to use a keyboard - but I don't follow the idea that he doesn't know about coins. Exceed ANA standards - then the next line says "for this quality". Bad typing skills - not bad numismatic knowledge. Rare Philly Mint - that's just a way of jabbering about your coin. Many would call vf+ --> I'm no expert (at all) on this type of coin - but it does look to be in pretty nice shape. It sure isn't AG or G.
