World Coins: Your Newest Acquisition!

    Two weekend ago i had the opportunity to sort through 5000+ German coins.
    Sort I did, literally. All coins from 1947 and older to about 1870 or so. In order by denomination,date and mint. And this one really appealed to me.

    Nice example! I like to just pretend the 1943 Florin and Half Crown don't exist so I don't have to worry about picking them up for my collection. They end at 1942 ;)

    Nice one to have. I owned one in the early 2000s and have kind of been on the lookout for another ever since.

    I had the whole Irish predecimal series from 1928 up, including the '43 halfcrown but not the '43 florin. That latter (the king of Irish rarities) was the only piece I lacked.

    My '43 halfcrown looked similar to yours, though with a bit more toning. It was in an old PCI photocertificate slab from the early '90s, graded F15 as I recall.

    Very nice examples of those stivers! I have same same, but of lesser quality, perhaps. Now you need the half stiver, A?
