    There's no way to know whether a worn-out coin got that way from being used as a modern pocket piece, but this as of Julia Domna is the most worn-out but identifiable coin in my collection:

    Obv: IVLIA AVGVSTA, bare-headed and draped bust, right.
    Rev: CERES S C, Ceres standing left, holding corn ears and long torch; altar at feet, left.
    Refs: RIC 870; BMCRE 781; Cohen 19; RCV 6636; Hill 346.

O: IMP C CLAVDIVS AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind. O: FIDES AVG, Mercury standing left, holding purse in right hand and short-handled caduceus in left hand; epsilon in exergue.
    Notes: Extremely rare, possibly the second known from this officina.
    Ex Finn Johannessen Collection (purchased from Patrick Ryman, 19 Aug 2009)

    Well, precisely dating Chinese coins is difficult. Date ranges are, especially in this early period, rather large. I took a look at my spades, but most types continued to be issued in the third century BC. None that could positively be identified as fourth century. Then I remembered one of my favourite round coins:

    Traditionally, this type has also been given the 350-250 BC date. But since the issuing city of Yuan was conquered by Qin in 292 BC, its issuing must predate this. With its date range of 350-292, I’d consider it a 4th century BCE coin ;).
