I was going through my cousin's coins and I found this one that looks like it was painted I will send some pictures hopefully someone can let me know thank you.
Hi Imho, it looks like a mad cent. If you look at the 9 and 11 o’clock on the obverse you can see a split. Not sure on painted. Did you weigh it to see if it is off?
I haven't yet. I'm waiting for some stuff to come in and I've been really ssick. I just started this, trying to pay medical bills, I'm still learning how to figure things out. I appreciate all the input from everybody thank you. I've tried this before I have a Jefferson nickels Washington quarters and Lincoln pennies books the nickels are almost filled up the pennies I have some work to do and quarters but four years ago when I had just started I ended up getting cancer to and then my eyesight went real bad but now it gives me something to do while I'm just hanging out at the house all the time and I'm like crazy with it LOL I can't stop it's like you can't put down a good book, I can't put down my internet and research. I'm overloading I don't know what to start with.
Ya know what there Mr. Paddyman98...you can really bring a girl down with few words....lol jk I want you to be straight.
It was in an damp iron oxide environment ( reddish colored dirt) and the corrosion process added some to the surface of the copper coin ( copper is very reactive). Jim
