I am trying to organize my father's coin collection. When I was taking inventory of the Morgan silver dollars, I found the one in the attached pics. Has anyone ever seen something like this ? Or did somebody get aggressive with a major size buffing machine?

The details on the face are missing in the 10 and 11 o'clock area. On the reverse, the details are missing above the eagle

From what I can tell from the pics, looks buffed and polished. Scrub a dub, dub. :D

the lower edge under the year on the obv makes me question it...

perhaps I've been reading too much counterfeit info lately.

The rims look odd and the strike is off.
    I'd wager it is counterfeit.
    Sorry.

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

Looks like a combination of a strikethrough and agressive cleaning.

Like others I'd like to see larger pics though, so my confidence level is not very high....
