Interesting find. Unfortunately, looks like it isn't worth much over face value in that condition. l see one sold on ebay for $66. But, after fees, it wouldn't be worth it. Still a cool note to save, if possible.
If sold at $66, then assuming 13% fees (10% ebay, 3% paypal) and $0.30 minimum paypal fee, and $0.55 shipping for first class mail, you end up with: $56.57 Or, $6.57 profit. If that profit margin is worth it to you, then go for it.
If you wish to sell this note (or just wish that it goes to a good home), offer it on this forum or on the Where's George collector forum. That way you won't be subjected to eBay's ultra high selling and listing fees.
Thanks guys. I told her just that. She’s the coin vault keeper too. A collector will take it if I don’t so it’s in good hands.
I also have a 1950C note, mine from San Francisco. Bought it a while ago at auction with several other items, and actual cost came out just under $60... it has found a good home, and will probably be in my estate.
