These are two Jefferson nickels that were part of a gift from @CircCam .

 

I included the ‘59 as I thought it was interesting how similar the toning was to the ‘37 buffalo you purchased... the blues, the orange hugging the devices, etc. Same composition but I wonder if they were both stored in Whitman albums.

Nice coins. The 1900 S 63 CAC is surely interesting? I'm a fan of that date.

 

Love seeing those rattlers with the Gold Stickers!! I have so many coins I need to send to CAC, I just need to do it. I should see if anyone else wants to piggyback.

Found this at my local coin shop today. Although technically not a coin, I couldn't pass it up considering this is the 50th anniversary of the first man on the moon. I used to watch the Apollo Rockets take off from my front yard as a kid, so for $3 I had to have it!

 

Now this is just plain perplexing to see when you open a coin package.

Whaaaat?? Who knows my b’day??

Fortunately @CircCam included a note to clear it up. Turns out that when he recognized me as a CoinTalk member, he clicked on my name here and my profile revealed that it was my birthday.

Here is the gift. I am truly appreciative. I only hope I was able to capture some of the luster of this beauty.

The Courier-News presents to its readers today, with pardonable pride, the largest, and it believes, the best newspaper ever issued in Elgin.

This is its contribution, made possible through the cooperation of Elgin commercial and manufacturing institutions which are its advertisers, to the success of Elgin’s celebration of its 100th birthday.

There are five special sections in this Centennial Edition of The Courier-News, each 24 pages, in addition to the regular main news section of the paper, of 28 pages. Never before in the history of the city has any newspaper published an edition of 148 pages.

 

I would find these papers interesting since i grew up in that area and was born there.

Hated missing it. Didn’t do the last 2 I just haven’t been buying any new inventory and been cash strapped and busy. Hopefully I’ll be back at it again after this summer

 

A weak strike on center of the reverse and a few black spots on obverse but I don’t then I they take much away from the coin. I’m happy with it
