help with mintmark

    I cant tell what this mintmark is can someone please help me. To me it looks like both an S and a D IMG_0900.JPG IMG_0898.JPG

    IMO it looks like an S mint mark. In 1928 two different size S mint marks were used, a small S and a large S. I don't know which one is on your coin. Maybe other members can give more info on this.

    It is an "S" that has been tamped down by wear. The mint mark is not greatly protected on the Standing Liberty Quarters so this can happen.

    It's a well worn S.
