I have a few coins I believe should either have higher grades, or copper coins that are RB and not BN. I would love to get any feedback on experiences you may have had doing this with PCGS and NGC.

    Many thanks,
    Mr. I

We'll need large, sharp pictures of the coins AND labels to make reasonable recommendations.

I guess I was wondering how successful reconsiderations were. I mean they can just look at it real fast and say nope, nope, nope. And if I submit say 7 coins are they going to say "yeah we got all these wrong have to give these and upgrade" If it's a reasonable thing to do than great, I just never have done it before.

Are these all coins you sent in to have graded yourself, or are they slabbed coins you cherry-picked from dealer inventories over a long period of time, thinking each was undergraded?

If the former, I think you stand little chance of success. If the latter, I think it is worth posting photos for us.

So I just recently purchased this Lincoln, I think it should be higher than 67+...your feelings?

I can't tell much about the 44-D, as the images are small. The larger images of the 51-D tell me that the coin is probably not going higher because of strike.

Why would you spend money on regrading? Two nice coins with CAC stickers. Hard to do much better than that.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

Maybe if CAC had given them a gold bean, but yours have a green bean.
Both PCGS and CAC believe they have been given the proper grade.
Do what you will with them, but don't send them for reconsideration.

I guess I was hoping to get "THE" highest graded example...

Thank you so much for taking time to look and respond, really cool!!

Since there are two opinions (PCGS and CAC) on those coins that agree, trying for something better is, like others have said, a waste of money.

When you get grades like this on these types of coins, be happy with what you have. It’s way more than most people can expect or receive. In other words, don’t poke a sleeping bear in the ribs.

Last year I submitted a PCGS MS66+ WLH dollar (which had a green CAC sticker) to NGC for a crossover. It crossed at MS67, so they must have liked he coin as much as I did :)

But I agree with Rick, the 51-S Lincoln you posted is maxed-out. And I don’t think “RB” copper coins will be upgraded to “RD”. On the contrary, the TPGs guarantee doesn’t include color designations as far as I remember.
