They have a captive audience, and are the only game in town. Edited: They don't have to be good. There's no pride in a job well done, because there are no consequences. As I said, where else are you going to go? Canada?

What is their internet address suffix? It's ".com", not ".gov".

I hear that but since they are federal employees and have a strong union they know what they can get away with. Even if reported to a manager the manager won't even talk to the employee. I've seen it numerous times. Shameful.

The .com is for the public.

I have only ordered and received 2 items from the U.S. Mint , A 2019 Silver ATB Quarters set and A 2019 Proof SAE so far and both items arrived as I expected . I have placed an order for the Silver Proof set , if it also arrives as expected I will be ordering the Limited Edition Silver Proof set .
Should all not be well I'll haul myself to the USPS office JUST like any other item that needs returned to a Merchant for refund/return .
Rudeness should never be tolerated and reported to a superior .

    The .com actually means commercial!

Does that not describe the Post Office?

It sure does, and .gov wouldn't make it any better either.

I received my 2019 silver proof set this week and was not happy that the entire package was soaked (inside and out). The proof set is dry now that I laid it out for a couple of days. Not sure who or where it happened, so I'm not blaming the mint but I also expect a lot more from all parties involved.

Ha, ha, ha. I live off the grid in the deep forests of Montana. I get no services such as mail delivery.

What none of you understand is my living situation. I live on a mining claim deep in the forest of Montana, far from any services and 30 miles from the nearest town. I have to use a snowmobile to go over the Divide to get into town in the winter, so YES, it is a hardship. Not everyone lives in a town or city and has the services you take for granted. And no phone service, only satellite internet for communications.

Let's put on our educated caps and think about it. Does it make sense for the Mint to pay postage to return an item, and then labor and postage to resend a set, or would mailing 15¢ to satisfy a customer make more sense?

Technically the USPS is an independent agency of the executive branch. Worst of all possible worlds... not allowed to act truly private and yet subject to the whims of congress.

Guess I’m lucky. I’ve never had a problem with a Mint package.
