Do you have any images of a dime that has been improperly annealed that shows the expected luster for comparison?

The laying flat and the vertically oriented dime are supposed to be the same coin. If it is plated and not showing on one it shouldn't be showing on the other either.

    I'm not computer-savvy, so no, I don't have
    any photos handy.

If you are attending the ANA World's Fair of Money
convention in Chicago this August, I'd be glad to
see the coin in-hand there, and give an opinion after
    seeing the coin.

My posts are my opinions and observations - others here
have different opinions, and I respect those from known
    experienced collectors and/or researchers.

OK, I'm not trying to beat a dead horse here.

In my view, it's not a mis-annealed planchet
from what I can see in the photos.

Others can, have, and will disagree.

No worries about the pictures. I've seen some, maybe I can find something.

Even though dead horse has been beat, one more to show the rim comparison in the light, coin in question on the right.

You can see that the obverse die was partially filled with grease and debris around the perimeter.
