Well, here it is. Whoever guessed AU58 is correct. I was kinda bummed when i saw the grade; hoped for MS anything. Especially when i looked at other AU graded peace dollars.
The wear is pretty visible on the cheek and neck. I am glad to see that this wasn't graded MS. Nice Peace dollar though well done Don P.
There was a checkbox on the grading form that for an extra $5-10, they would look into the star or "+" rating, but I already thought I spent enough and these grading companies love to nickel and dime you to death! I paid $55 for the coin, so I figure spending an extra $35 for a shot at MS would be worth it.
I usually agree with your grading a lot. This coin, I think is a classic slider—the ole MS 58-AU 63 routine. lol
Well, what are my options at this point ? lol. The coin will never be worth enough money I guess to try and regrade.
Naw, I would leave it just as it is. You could submit it 6 times, and I think it would come back MS 3 times, and AU 3 times. Attractive coin just as it is.
I think it's $14 through an an accepted collector member. But if it doesn't get a bean, there is no charge. They are very quick - usually returned in a week.
